El Quintero is a 54-unit affordable senior housing community located in Calexico, California. Completed in 2012, the three-story development was constructed adjacent to the historic Hotel De Anza, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. The project provides independent living opportunities for seniors while carefully responding to the architectural character and historical significance of the surrounding site. Community amenities, landscaped open spaces, and resident gathering areas support an active and connected living environment while contributing much-needed affordable housing to the region.
